Backyard Chicken Basics and Biopod Demo

Our co-owner and poultry/bird enthusiast Bill Dougherty will present a great beginning class on raising backyard chickens. Topics will include the evolution of the hen, best breeds for the backyard enthusiast, housing concerns, nutrition, and general health tips. In addition, Bill will demonstrate how to successfully raise black soldier fly grubs , a great protein source for you backyard chickens by utilizing a biopod. 2nd Year anniversary and fundraiser for GROW North Texas

Join us on Saturday October 4th to help us celelbrate our 2nd year anniversary and to raise money for a non-profit GROW North Texas.  They are helping to educate sustainable living through nutrition and cooking classes and supporting local farmers.  Pancake breakfast starts at 9 am. 5 speakers that day inlcude:  10 am Organic Feeds, 11 am Top Bar Beehive Demo, noon Poultry husbandry and Biopod Demo, 1 use of Essential oils for Emergency Preparedness and 2 pm Fall/wiinter garden.  Total price for the entire event is $25 per person.
